Bushcraft Essentials: Fire, Water, Shelter

Discover the essential skills required to live in comfort outdoors and learn self-reliance in the areas of fire, water and shelter.
Held in our private ancient woodland near Bayford Herts this one day workshop course introduces you to the survival basics, with plenty of hands-on experience.

Bushcraft Essentials Overview

You will be taught how to provide for your immediate needs of fire, water and shelter, and how to work in harmony with your surroundings to acheive these aims.

You’ll get lots of practical experience with various methods of fire lighting, and you will also learn essential knife skills.

You will learn how, and have the opportunity to build your own natural shelter within the woodland, as well as how to quickly erect man-made tarp shelters, and the knots involved..

As we move through the woodland you will also learn how to identify some key plant and tree species and understand which are useful, as edibles or materials such as tinder.

Taught in the relaxed environment of an expedition-style camp with tea and coffee on hand throughout the day, you can ask plenty of questions, receive tailored tips and guidance.

The day runs 0930-1630 with a lunch break.  Please bring a packed lunch and suitable outdoor clothing.
